What I did was follow the exit signs, but I recognize that that may not work for everyone. For me I followed them for a solid... six minutes and then found the exit.

Friends please, I am begging you to read through the other comments here if you are about to post about an exploration or free-roam mode. I am so excited that this game has reached so many people, but I cannot imagine that it's fun for Andrew to get a notification about a new comment and reading it only to see that it's the 100th person asking for a free-roam mode when he's already confirmed that he's at least looking into it, multiple times, to a bunch of different people, in responses to several different comments. T_T

Andrew has spoken about this in comments down below and said that in the final game he will explore the possibility of creating something akin to an exploration mode. Enough people asked about it that it will probably appear. As for the demo (spoilers):

There is only one area where horror elements are present. In the lockerroom (the third area) there is a ghost-spectral beastie that follows the player. When I beat the demo I ran through the lockerroom area and never encountered the specter. I've only seen it through the lets plays of other people. It is slow and easy to miss. There is also a corpse in the area after, but it's not a jump scare.

I'm going to begin by saying that I don't fully disagree with what you're saying but also... Some people want a liminal space walking simulator. That's a big part of what this game is and judging from what people are saying here it's clear that many people WANT that. I am among them. That said, as Andrew has said, he has heard what people are saying and will give people both.

He has noted, in responses to comments on this little forum, that he plans to have both the game as he originally envisioned it (with some plot & horror elements), and a more freeform liminal space explorer mode. I wouldn't be surprised if that takes the form of a reward for beating the game or the chapters of the game, but it is my hope that this takes the form of an immediately accessible option for players right out the gate. I have purchased the game, enjoyed the demo, and plan to play the full game, plot & all, when it is eventually released but it's valid for people to want a liminal space walking simulator. A lot of people in the liminal space subreddit and communities like that of Float (a YouTuber who is well known in this community) have expressed a desire for liminal space multimedia including things that let people explore liminal spaces. I'm one of them, and I'm so grateful that Andrew listened to his community.

I... kept trying, messed around with my GPU settings, and got it fixed! Thank you for that comment, I am NOT a tech person so I would not have known how to fix it alone.

I fear that it might be. I'm gonna try it on another computer and see if it works. I was surprised and happy when I had no real issues getting past the diving board, so I wanna keep trying and see if I can't figure out a way to get the water guns to work.

I purchased the game and have hit a HARD crash spot where every time I reach the place with the water-gun puzzle (the area IMMEDIATELY after the diving board) my game crashes. Any time I try to turn on the water my game always crashes no matter what. That said, I really like this game and hope that some point I can find a way around that problem or it can be addressed by Andrew. This is a gorgeous game and I can't wait to see more of it.
